You can find and submit previous course outlines. I bought a Casio fx-991es Plus back in high school, when I was taking Math 31. I bought this model because I read it was virtually identical to the Faculty of Engineering approved Casio fx-115es plus.
Apparently the model number is different, but the calculator is identical? Now that I'm taking STAT 151, looks like I need to get an approved non-programmable calculator for the exams, and get a gold sticker on it. Does anyone know if my Casio FX-991ES Plus calculator would still be approved? I'd honestly prefer not to spend another $24 for a new calculator. Last year in STATS 151, you could only use calculators that are approved by the faculty. Any other models would be taken away during exams. It's best to ask the course captain(Don't know who it is this year) if your calculator is approved.
If it is not, then buy an approved calculator from the bookstore. I bought the HP 10s+ Scientific Calculator because it was the cheapest(I think it was around $17) and it was approved(had the tiny sticker on it). I know you said you rather not spend $24, but it's a lot better than going to the midterm/final and having your calculator taken away. It's NOT worth it.
